The Famous Riot















In 1995, after only 15 minutes and 11 seconds of game, a player of Boston, Hal Laycoe touch the Rocket’s head with his stick. The linesman, who tried to intervene, he got the Richard’s punch. For this act, Richard suspended to the rest of season and also the playoff. Laycoe, the aggressor was no suspension. What is the cause of the Riot is that 4 days after this game, Campbell, the president of the NHL assisted at the Montreal games. The frustration got the fans to explain their frustration some fan manifest but this manifestation became more terrible and finish in riot. To calm down the assistance Montreal needed to stop the game after one period. The day after, Maurice Richard addressed to the population and calmed their down.
