Air Pollution

I know that is not about hockey but it’s an assignment that I did in class. The only link that I found with hockey is that if you have a breath trouble, you can play hockey a lot. So anyways!

Every place in the world, we have a big problem. This problem is air pollution. The air pollution can affect our health in many ways. Health Canada estimated in 2005 that 5 900 Canadians are deaths each year due to air pollution. The people, who have some illness such as asthma, heart or lung diseases, suffer more when the air is polluted. This essay will be about the causes of bad air and the effects on our health. If we take care about our habits, we can have better air.

There are many causes that are responsible for air pollution. One cause of air pollution is Nitrogen in the air caused by vehicle engines burn. Another cause is incomplete combustion of gas and diesel fuel. The consequence of incomplete combustion is that fine particles like acid and carbon are in the air. Finally one more cause of air pollution is when a gas like Nitrogen Oxides is in the air. These gas is present in the air when fuels is burned at high temperature; like when you put fuel in a fire for have a more big fire or just the particles are in the air and burn by the sun.

The air pollution affects many things on our health. First of all, when we use our car; our vehicle engines burn and was free many gases substances. One of those gases is Nitrogen. When we breath this substance, our airways and especially our lung their can irritate in same time reduce a good breath. If our lung their too much irritate, we can have some pain when you breath. An additional effect, on your health, with the bad air is with the incomplete combustion of gas or diesel fuel. They create in the air a quantity of fine particulates like acid and carbon. Those are dangerous for the ability of your blood to carry oxygen and this can causes mental confusion, severed headache and dizziness. As a final point, the Nitrogen Oxides cause lung irritation and inhabit the body’s ability to fight against some illness such as influenza and pneumonia.

To sum up, the air is pollute by many gas that we can found there in incomplete combustion like when we use car too frequently. The effects are often about a difficult to breath and ability of our blood circulation. If we don’t take care of our air, everybody will probably have a health problem.

And 5

Every year during Christmas time 26 best hockey players aged between 16 and 20 in Canada are together to participated at a big championship, the World Junior. This year was in Canada, team Canada tries to win a fifth gold medal in a row. This January 5, 2009, Canada’s players had won against team Sweden. The final mark was 5-1, two goals in an empty net. The game was really good even if the scored was high because all of the time the Sweden’s players keep their energy and they want to try to win until the game is done. This fifth gold medal is also the 15th. This is the second time that this club won five gold medals consecutively. The first time is between 1993 and 1997. I hope that next year they will be win sixth medal and do a record.

How to Do a Good Warm-Up before a Hockey Game.

You’re excited about to playing a hockey game. Before playing, you must have a good warm-up to have a less chance to get an injury. The body is like a car in winter at -30 degrees cs, if it not pluged in many times before maybe it won’t start, or if it starts it is hard on it. The car will be stiff so it is the same thing for your muscles. It easy to do a good warm-up if you follow these four steps.

First of all, you should do some exercises before you put on your equipment. Do some light jogging. With this you will get your heart rate up. Also, you might do some movement like you do will during your sport. This part is about ten minutes.

Next, you could put on your equipment and go on the ice. Do about five minutes of easy skating sometimes you should skate backward. This is good for your legs and increases your heart rate. Be carefule, if you skate too fast at the beginning, you can stretch a ligament.

Third, you must stretch your body. You can use your hockey stick to do shoulder rolls. Move on to stretches for your back, arms and legs. However, move slowly to avoid some hyper extending.

Finally, you should do some skating again, but now more quickly for heart rate up because it was going down. Furthermore, now you can practice your shot and in the same time you practice the goaltender while working all of your muscles.

In conclusion, don’t forget to stretch your muscles before a game. As a result, of carefule stretching, you will be ready to play and you will have less chances getting injured in the game. Have fun!
